Senator Spector Goes Home to Roost
Senator Spector (RINO-PA) was a Democrat prior to his 1980 Senate bid (and 1960's Attorney General bid), but switched parties in order to run on the GOP ticket. Before his election campaign, Spector was a lawyer who represented such holsum characters as Ira Einhorn. Einhorn is a far-left kook nut prisoner. Just the kind of dirt bag a far-left lawyer would represent. That lawyer again was Senator Arlen Spector. It is only fitting because after helping ruin the GOP's image the last several decades, Spector has decided to switch parties (finally!) due to a likely unwinnable primary battle verses Pat Toomey. Toomey almost beat Spector in 2004, but the GOP supported Spector as did President Bush. That worked out just great huh? RNC Chairman Michael Steele has come out to denounce Spector, but I find this insulting. Why? The RNC offered to still support Spector in 2010 even after his traitorous actions on the stimulus package. Now the RNC looks foolish because they intended to help Spector and were dissed anyway. Had Steele taken a strong position early, like removing Spector from his Judicial committee, it would have sent a clear signal to other "traitors" such as Senators McCain, Snowe, and Collins that it is time to tow the line. I also blame the GOP Senate leadership. So now Spector has switched parties twice. The only only question remaining is if Spector has a chance to hold his seat? The DFL and other groups will pump big money into the race to prop him up. It will takes lots of propping since Spector lost his spine many years ago. I am curious how Spector will be received by Independents? Time will tell, but as goes the DFL, so goes Spector now. Goodbye and good ridance. One down many RINOs to go...
