The Personal Injury Commercial Rear Ends Intelligence
I have seen multiple personal injury advertisements on TV over the last few weeks. In every one it is the same story:
1) Some pathetic "victim" with camera in their face looking completely fine.
2) The "victim" uses various "catch" phrases: "I was confused," "I didn't know what to do," "I had nowhere to turn," etc...
3) Somehow this "confused," "scared" and "disoriented" "victim" figures out how to dial the phone and call the advertising attorney's office.
4) The "victim" narrowly avoids "catastrophe."
There is so much wrong with these commercials it is difficult to know which part to rip first. We must remember though that most of these attorney's are Liberals. Thus, Liberals believe common citizens are lost without government, and what is government? Mostly elected officials with law degrees. Conclusion? Accident "victims" are lost without ambulance chasers. This is such a great example of why we need tort reform in the USA. If the loser paid the other party's legal bills, it would solve so many issues. If it is good enough for Brittan, why not here? I bet Gov Sara Palin (R-AK) wishes we had loser pays. Those left-wing kook bloggers that have filed 15 frivolous ethics complaints against her would be on the hook for Palin's $500,000 in legal bills. The American Bar Association is a powerful lobby though. Until we get tort reform how about a compromise? The next time some "victim" is too "confused" to handle an accident, just have the ambulance take them directly to the asylum. You have to be insane or below adult level intelligence to not understand how to call your insurance company, the police, et al... Unconscious? A good samaritan will on your behalf.
