A Tale of Two Sick Crotchety Old Men
I wrote here the other day about my own experiences with the health care system. Examples outlining the effects of free/forced care. I have another example that hits right home. I must first mention an article in American Thinker about Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA). Kennedy has what is likely terminal cancer. The old fossil isn't on display at the Smithsonian, but resting at home. Another old war horse named Ray is also resting at home. Ray is my 91.5 year old grandfather. Ray too has cancer. Kennedy is fortunate to have a private health care plan, plus big bucks. This equals any and all care he wishes. Ray has the care he needs, but no big bucks. Just a few possessions in his assisted living facility room. What differentiates these two short timers is money. The money to pay for what health insurance won't cover. President Obama wants to ration health care to seniors. His words were something to the effect of having seniors take a pain pill instead of getting the surgery. Ann Coulter talks about it here. Is Obama ready to "pull the plug" on a Senator that backed him for President? Is Obama ready to "give up" on the unknown Ray? The thing that separates Ray from these other two hypocrites is bravery. You see, Ray has had enough of the medical procedures and constant attention of various professionals. Ray has chosen instead to only receive pain pills. Not a drop of health care more. Ray will pass away soon and be sorely missed by his family. Ray will have gone in peace and in control of his care. Not due to IBM's cold indifference. Fortunately, the tide is still turning against Obama. Health care is not a right. Get insurance and be responsible. Question, which of the following is most important to you? Cable TV, cell phone, latte, vacation, or health care insurance? We have the money if we look hard enough. The plans are out there if we make an effort to BUY one. It is not my responsibility to pay your way losers!
