I had planned to post again on Health Care, but instead decided to write about how a multitude of "boondoggles" is plaguing the DFL and President Obama.  I have already written here how the Health Care debate is literally the catalyst for Obama's poll number plummet to 47% approval.  Then you have a Federal budget with a $1.8 trillion deficit due to bailouts, overspending, and yes...EARMARKS.  What is that you say?  Obama claimed no more earmarks?  Ha!  They are still here and bigger than ever.  I posted about the Federal budget here, here, and here, just for a sample. How bad is the Federal budget and deficit?  Let me explain.  President Clinton had a $250 billion budget surplus during one year in his term.  I'm not sure of the exact year or number, but this is close.  The Federal government spent $250 billion less than it took in.  Assume we can somehow achieve that same budget surplus now.  The National Debt is $11 trillion.  It would take the Federal government 44 years to pay off the debt.  How long is your mortgage?  15 years?  30 years?  Our beloved Federal incompetent government is on a 44 year "mortgage."  Obama is on pace to increase the National Debt to $20 trillion!  Did you get that?  How many years would it take to pay that debt off?  80 years?  100 years?  The point here is that the next two, three, or more generations of Americans are already BROKE.  Good thing we have freedom huh?  Not for long.  The Global Warming Cap and Trade bill will destroy millions of jobs and trillions in wealth.  It gets worse.  The Health Care bill will allow the government to control our lifestyles.  Depressed because you lost your job?  No single malt scotch or cigar.  No candy.  The government will regulate it ALL.  Sound far fetched?  If the government is paying the bills, the government gets to regulate it.  There is already Supreme Court precedent.  Get money, etc, from Federal government, the feds can dictate how that money, etc, is used, etc...  We need a MASSIVE spending freeze and cut in government ASAP or there won't be an American left.  Returning the "stimulus" money to the people is a good start.  What good is watching the DFL ruin themselves, the GOP win back the Presidency/Congress, if it means watching the country invent a new term...  4th World Country...
