There are several special elections this year.  This bodes well for the GOP because the current political environment allows for a litmus test of pure Conservatism.  We already know the GOP has closed the gap with the DFL on the generic ballot.  Add in a multitude of unpopular policy pushed by President Obama, Senator Reid (D-NV), and Speaker Pelosi (D-CA), and you have the makings for a GOP resurgence.  Unless...  Ladies and gentlemen...  I give you NY-23 candidate Dede Scozzafava...  RINO extraordinarie and supported by the NY GOP, RNC, NRCC, Newt Gingrich, etc...  More on Gingrich here and his Liberal panderings.  I think it is safe to say that Gingrich is now an official Conservative fraud (if not already).  How he won the House in 1994 is beyond me.  More ugh!  The Conservative challenger  Doug Hoffman?  Hoffman is out on his own.  What?!  The RINO gets props and the Conservative not?  The GOP better get their act together.  Now is the time to move right and use these special elections as the front line.  Go Moderate and loose?  Risk damaging the party's image more as Moderates that are just as bad as Democrats.  Ugh!  Luckily, RINOs are not only politically unprincipled, but incompetent as well.  Note Scozzafava here and here.  Buffoonery on display in 3D!  LOL...  Support Hoffman here and sleep well at night.

Update 10/22/2009:  Mark Steyn is his usual brilliant self here and here.  The plot thickens in the NY-23 race.  I agree that Scozzafava should withdraw, but for a different reason.  RINO!  Hoffman has received some new support as well.  Gov Sara Palin has endorsed him and his war chest is growing BIGGER.  I think these "intelligent" political hacks pushing "Big Tent Republicanism" on us should read this tonight.  Duh!  Duh!  Duh!

Update 10/25/2009:  More great fodder from a "litmus test" election.  Gov Tim Pawlenty (R-MN) will endorse Doug Hoffman in the NY-23 race.  Take that Newt Gingrich!  Even more Republicans have broke with the RNC, NRCC, et al to support Hoffman.  I understand why Pawlenty endorsed Hoffman.  Pawlenty is a RINO.  Pawlenty is a Global Warming nut bag.  Pawlenty got tough on taxes in MN during the last budget cycle and now endorses a Conservative candidate to boost his own political future.  Glad to have him on board, but beware a RINO in Conservative clothing...
