Most Effective Congress Evah To Permenantly Work 3rd Shift

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) have made it a habit lately of passing legislation in the wee hours of the night.  The Senate most recently completed a key Health Care bill vote at 1am EST.  Encouraged by the swift action possible on "tough" legislation, Pelosi and Reid intend to change "normal" legislative hours to 10pm to 2am EST Monday through Thursday.  The new 3rd shift time will hold multiple advantages to the regular 1st shift:  limited traffic on the beltway, minimal media requests, fewer constituent meetings, more family time while the kids are actually awake, and additional time for personal business...i.e...bank, Post Office, botox, etc...  This new Congress will forever be known as the "Congress that never sleeps."  The "Midnight Oil Session."  Well, although most of these politicians look asleep while talking in front of a camera, they surely will get some sleep once their rigorous nightly schedule is complete.  I'm personally looking forward to bills passing in a few days verses much longer during the Bush Administration.  Finally, the government will be as effective, if not more so, than a private business.  Well, at least during the wee hours of the night...
