We Have A Right To Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of Happiness, Nothing More, Nothing Less
I have argued about health care several times this past year with various "bleeding heart" types who believe it is a matter of "rights." Ask if people have the "right" to a house, car, boat, et al, and the common response is, "well, health care is just different..." Walter E Williams explains precisely what entails a "right" here. Health care cannot be a "right" because in order to provide it to one person, you must take money (taxes) from another. I have oversimplified things, but you get the point. Of course, the "bleeding heart" types also believe that an education is a "right." I suspect many of you feel the same way I do when tax day comes along. That with all the money being confiscated from us, we should at least be able to get one of thee societal sloths to run a few errands for us... Last note... Don't forget the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that emergency room health care cannot be denied... We are so screwed...
