I remember the handling of hurricane Katrina by President Bush.  They guy just couldn't catch a break, yet incompetent boobs such as Mayor Ray Nagin, Gov Kathleen Blanco, etc, escaped criticism.  Regardless, we spent over $100 billion to rebuild New Orleans.  Now let us take a look at the oil spill.  The disaster that President Obama ignored for 12 days.  It looks like this oil will reach land, alas, Katrina 2.0.  We have all these Democrats and some stupid Republicans (sans Sarah Palin) calling for an end to offshore drilling.  Riddle me this lemmings...  How is it we must spare no expense to return New Orleans to pre-Katrina greatness, but a rare accident on an oil platform demands a shut down of the entire industry?  Shouldn't the correct response be, "we are going to spare no expense to retool the offshore drilling rigs, improve methods, etc...?"  One could say the correct response to Katrina was, "we must be careful not to rebuild this city in harms way, etc..."  I say invest $100 billion in America's oil industry over the next five years and see what happens to our economy.  Boom times!  To bad these Democrats are prostituted by their misguided belief in Global Warming.  Ugh!
