Far Left-Wing Kook Haven Becomes Plain Old Left-Wing Kook Haven, Aspires to be "Moderate"
I live in MN and know all about this place and the very Liberal and/or Independent streak here. Set aside the crazy high taxes (ranked like 7th per capita nationally). I recently mentioned paying $425 for my car license renewal as opposed to $100 in past years. Set aside the desire by the Liberal legislature to continually attempt to raise taxes. Set aside the election of far left-wing kooks like Senator Al Franken (D-MN). Now a poll has MN leaning more right? What the heck happened here? Has the state finally awakened from their Liberal coma to hopefully at least find Moderate country? The thing that stood out to me in the article, aside from ObamaCare repeal, and Illegal Immigration enforcement, was former Senator Mark Dayton (D-MN). This is a man who spent at least $20 million of his own money to buy a Senate seat, serve a very nondescript six years, and then "retire" to spend more time with his family. Claimed he was "tired" or some crap like that. This was WAY before politicians were in the "retiring" mood. Back in 2004, this were much easier pre-Obama. Now Dayton is looking to be the Governor of MN? Ha! That will be the day. This all should prove interesting though come Nov 2010...
