I mentioned this article on Twitter earlier today, but it is too juicy...  I gotta milk it some more...  The complete insanity of the premise would be grounds for immediate commitment to "Bellevue" under normal circumstances, but this is not normal circumstances.  It is a couple weeks before an election that will DESTROY many Democrats.  We'll just chalk this up to the Associated Press suffering Pre Traumatic Stress Disorder.  To even claim the current DFL Congress accomplished more than at any other time in the past 50 years....  OMG!  This is akin to that Iraqi Spokesman that claimed American soldiers weren't in Baghdad.  It is delusional to the point of 100% mental illness.  Before we even get into the current Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) Congress, let us go back 50 years...  That would be 1960's.  Congress is Constitutionally required to pass a budget.  This is where Senate rules allow a simple majority instead of 60 vote threshold.  A budget is crucial.  How many times since the 1960's has Congress failed to produce a budget?  How many times since 1960 has Congress failed to produce a budget with single party rule?  I do recall some government shutdown back during the President Clinton days, but there has essentially always been a budget passed.  Not this year though.  The Democrat controlled Congress left D.C. without passing a single required budget.  Sure, they pushed through a small gap bill, but still no true budget.  Never mind the fact that Congress used reconciliation rules to force through an opposed ObamaCare health bill.  Reconciliation being budget rules in the Senate.  A simple majority.  A bill that had at or over 60% opposition then, and 60%r now FOR repeal.  To quick summarize...  Congress punts the REQUIRED budget, but uses budget rules to pass VERY unpopular legislation that didn't meet the requirements for reconciliation.  How about we talk about deficits now?  The past year deficit was $1.4 trillion.  Crushing the previous high of around $450 billion.  The coming year deficit will be $1 trillion.  The Congressional Democrats and President Obama have presided over the GREATEST destruction of American since President Carter.  I suggest an alternate headline for the AP...  "A destructive Congress gets conniptions from voters." "The GOP tried to stop it, the Democrats flocked to it."  "Most destructive Congress in 40 years."
