I have been watching the news coverage of the AZ shooting on/off and just can't take it anymore.  These Liberal hacks aren't even attempting to disguise their blatant bias.  These are individuals that enjoy 1st Amendment privileges so as to expose corruption, etc, in Government, yet are just as corrupt if not more.  These are individuals who hide behind the 1st Amendment when it suits their purposes (NYT classified memo leaks), but are quick to suggest limits on everyone else ("right-wing" hate speech).  These are people who ask for us to withhold judgment when a Muslim Terrorist shoots soldiers (Nidal Hasan), attempts to blow up a plane (underwear bomber), but jumped to conclusions IMMEDIATELY on these AZ shootings.  There are good reasons why the media ratings, viewers, subscriptions, et al, are in the crapper.  People know crap when the see/hear it.  I don't recall the last time I actually watched the news.  Sure, I watch some FOX news, etc, but essentially stick to a few credible websites.  It wasn't any stretch to assume the media would try to finger the Tea Party for what this insane kid did in AZ.  No matter the kid was steeped in Socialist propaganda.  This Jared Loughner is a certifiable kook of the nth degree.  Aside from the 1st Amendment restrictions the media will call for, Democrats will attempt to pass, etc, there are the ridiculous calls for 2nd Amendment curbs.  One feeble and incompetent article that stood out was from some leftist kook at MarketWatch, Brett Arends.  There is sooo much wrong and idiotic about this article.  Arends' general point is that due to unemployment, little/no education, and booming guns sales, the next massacre is just around the corner.  This is just lunacy.  How MarketWatch even printed it is puzzling.  I'll touch each point briefly...  Why is unemployment high?  LIBERALISM!  Duh!  The economy sucks and the Democrats just paid BIG for it back in Nov 2010.  Does this mean that more Liberal policy equals more murders Arends?  No, but by your logic it does.  Ugh!  Education...  60% of college students are female.  Thanks to LIBERALISM, boys have been left behind since K.  The BIGGEST fallacy of Arends' article is his stupid attempt at math/stats.  Somehow if you take 1% of underemployed men, assume 10% try to buy a gun, you get 21k with guns or 400 per state.  This is his final quote, "They’re sitting at home, brooding, reading extremist websites and polishing their guns."  Ugh!  What an absolute joke this Arends is.  We have 10's of millions of guns in the USA, yet these kook massacres happen VERY VERY VERY seldom.  Didn't you read Dr John Lott's book Brett?  "More Guns Less Crime?"  You should think about it because Lott CRUSHED your FEEBLE article YEARS ago.  I have a stat for you Brett...  99.9% of people who attempt these massacres are Islamic Fundamentalists.  99.9% of these terrorists or domestic criminals that get explosives try to kill people.  Sure, you will argue that explosives are illegal, etc...  How do they acquire the materials then Brett?  There will be guns no matter what you are allowed to do to the 2nd Amendment. I don't want to be one of those lacking arms.  Nor do millions of other law abiding citizens.  Trying to prevent some isolated kook from killing people is no different than trying to control the Earth's climate.  It can't be done.
