Fuzzy Math, Less People In Workforce Equals Less Unemployment And Economic Recovery

The Bureau of Labor Stats came out on Friday with the latest foray into economic fantasy.  That fantasy?  Somehow unemployment DROPPED to 9% from 9.4% on only 36,000 new jobs.  What???  Are you telling me that if we add 500,000 new jobs in February we will be back at 4% unemployment come March?  That is effectively what the report expects you to believe.  That 36,000 new jobs is a sign that the economic "recovery" is on track.  Ha!  Forget the fact is takes 100,000 to 200,000 new jobs each month just to keep the unemployment rate STEADY.  Forget the fact that Obamaville has lost 8 million jobs.  8,000,000.  I know what you are thinking...  "How the heck can 36,000 jobs decrease the unemployment rate so much when it takes many times that to just keep it even???"  Answer...  You DECREASE the baseline number of people in the labor force and/or INCREASE the number of people that gave up looking for a job.  We now have 65 million people age 16 and over NOT in the labor force.  That is 65,000,000.  I would argue that age 18 to 60 is more appropriate, but that is still a crazy number!  Think about it...  If someone isn't working, they are taking.  They are leeching off of you and me.  Pure and simple.  Sure, some are rich, some are retired, some live with mom/dad, some are housewives, but the VAST majority are wards of the state.  They collect a government check.  Welfare, food stamps, disability, WIC, Medicaid, Section 8, unemployment, etc... OMG!  Is there any economic number that is fairly reported anymore?  GDP is just as fuzzy.  How can government spending be growth?  It can't!  Government takes from those who would invest in long term endeavors and wastes it on one-time items, non producing projects, etc...  Sigh...  The GOP better play chicken with Obama and shut down the government in lieu of MASSIVE spending cuts.  GOP Revolt!
