Obama Administration Rehearses For "Gov Shutdown" The Movie

The theatrics of the Media, President Obama, and the Democrats over a possible Gov shutdown has just been nauseating this past week.  Every minute we get another story about what "essential" services will be functional or lost.  Will the Dept Of North To South Flowing Streams be open or closed???  Oh the humanity!  We get stories about the effect on GDP.  Never mind the fact that using the Gov as part of GDP is crap math to begin with.  We get stories of the effect on some singularly obscure "victim."  Will grandma be able to get reimbursed for her $5 doctor visit copay in time, or will she be forced to eat dog food this week?  The list goes on and on...  The biggie right now is how the White House is "preparing" for the shutdown.  "Preparing?"  The White House is starting the process, etc...  What kind of crap messaging is this?  Of course we all know what is going on.  The Democrats are bending over backwards to make sure that a gov shutdown is portrayed as some HUGE event.  They are trying to make obviously non-essential gov agencies appear essential.  That it is some colossal task to bring the "finely oiled machine" to a stop.  If that is true, why isn't the DMV open seven days per week?  Why is the Minnesota Dept Of Economic Security website only available Monday to Friday 6am to like 5pm?  A website not "open" 24/7!  Good grief!  Only in government can there be a website with "office hours."  Why isn't the Social Security Administration open all weekend long?  What about Social Services?  Can you go apply for food stamps or welfare Saturday or Sunday?  The point here is that the gov "shuts down" every weekend and federally mandated holiday.  How many times have people gone to their local government Taj Mahal only to find it closed due to some holiday the feds/state observe, but no one else in the private sector?  Sure, parks are open weekends, but how does it take a gov bureaucrat to oversee a hiking trail?  Oh yeah, someone has to collect the park fee.  Border Patrol essential?  Not to this open borders admin.  What a joke.  The truth is that it doesn't take ANY effort to shut down the government.  Just tell the non-defense employees to stay home.  Done!  Remember after the tech bubble burst in 2000?  All sorts of companies "shut down" for a few weeks here/there to save on costs.  Employees just took vacation or unpaid leave.  The auto makers shut down regularly due to supply/demand, retooling, etc...  What happens to federal employees?  They stay home, but are then given back pay, etc...  Pretty sweet deal huh?  How many times has your boss told you to stay home for a week with pay?  I would guess none.  The truth is that it is more work to "film" the White House produced "Government Shutdown The Movie" than it is to actually shut things down.  The GOP should stand tall and let the DFL "shut" things down.  The American people will not miss it one bit!
